The long serving former president of the Coffs Harbour RSL Sub-branch, Bob Payne, has been recognised for his efforts to support the veteran community.
Mr Payne was awarded a Community Service Award this morning by the Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser.
The Vietnam veteran said he was proud to accept the award and used the opportunity to encourage other veterans to ask for help if they need it.
“they need to come out so we can give them the help, we have to encourage them in every way we can to come forward to get that help that they need and we know they need.”
Mr Payne served the sub-branch in various positions for 14 years.
