A 49-year-old man has been charged after he was found possessing a replica firearm in Hamilton South last night.
Police patrolling on Fowler Street were alerted by a member of the public to a man allegedly carrying a firearm.
Officers located the man at around 6:30pm, with a search revealing him to be in possession of a replica pistol.
He was charged with possession of an unauthorised pistol and affray.
Police will also allege that the Kurri Kurri man used the weapon to threaten another man that was known to him, earlier in the day.
The man was granted bail to appear in court on Monday.
