Police are investigating after a man was hit by a car and subsequently assaulted in Tamworth on New Year’s Day.
Officers were called to Cossa Street at around 4.00am yesterday morning following reports of a large group of people in an altercation.
Police were told that a 25-year-old man was engaged in an argument with another man before being struck by a Ford Falcon.
A group of people then assaulted the man, before he managed to escape.
The man has since been released from hospital after receiving stitches to his head.
Police are urging any witnesses or anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
