A man has been charged following an armed robbery at a business in Bonnells Bay yesterday afternoon.
Police say a man entered a newsagency on Fishery Point Road at about 1pm, carrying a piece of metal and allegedly threatening the female store owner and demanding money.
An amount of cash was taken before the man made off in a car that had been parked nearby.
A short time later, police pulled over a vehicle travelling at Freemans Waterhole. Officers detained a 26-year-old man and two females inside the vehicle.
The man was later charged with armed robbery and an outstanding warrant.
He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court today.
