MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING AGGRAVATED BREAK AND ENTER
A 23-year-old man has been charged in relation to an aggravated break and enter and indecent assault in Newcastle earlier this year.
Police say in January, three males forced their way into a home in Carandotta Street, Mayfield, where it’s alleged they held the property’s 36-year-old resident against her will.
It’s alleged the trio, one of whom was armed with a knife, ransacked the home and stole a number of items before fleeing the scene.
Police also claim during the break in, one of the males indecently assaulted the woman.
Police later arrested two 17-year-old males charging them with numerous offences – they’re both before the courts.
Yesterday a 23-year-old man was extradited from Hervey Bay, Queensland, to Newcastle where he was formally arrested and charged with a string of charges.
