TERRIGAL STAND-OFF ENDS WITHOUT INCIDENT

A 32-year-old man has been arrested following a stand-off with police on the Central Coast overnight.

At around 6 o’clock, police say the man became involved in an altercation with a male patron at a club on Willoughby Road in Terrigal, where it’s alleged he threatened him a tomahawk.

The man left before police arrived, and drove to a home on Golden Grove Circuit, where he allegedly became involved in another altercation with a 49-year-old man.

The man again left before police arrived, but officers attended his house on Willoughby Road.

It’s alleged he barricaded the entrance to the home and refused to leave.

About 11.30pm, the operation was resolved without incident and he was taken into custody.

The man was taken to hospital for a medical assessment, where he remains under police guard.

Investigations are continuing.
