Two teenagers have escaped uninjured, after a man smashed into a Lake Macquarie home with an axe.
Police say the 31-year-old entered the backyard of the home on Anzac Parade at Toronto late yesterday afternoon, and demanded to be let in.
It’s alleged he then retrieved an axe from the side of the property and smashed the back door to gain entry to the home.
A 19-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy raised the alarm with police, before the man was taken into custody.
He’s been charged with a string of offences and is due to face court today.
