$200,000 WORTH OF BOATS DESTROYED BY FIRE AT TORONTO MARINA

Three boats have been destroyed by fire at a marina at Toronto on Lake Macquarie.

Early this morning, a man and woman sleeping on a boat at the Wharf Street marina were woken by a loud noise.

Upon reaching the deck, they found a cruiser nearby already well-alight. The couple was able to raise the alarm after swimming to shore.

Firefighters contained the blaze, but three cruisers were destroyed, and several other boats damaged. The destroyed vessels have an estimated value of $200,000.

The cause of the fire isn’t known at this stage.
