A Newcastle security guard is facing charges of assault after he allegedly punched and kicked a patron in the head, at a licensed venue in Hamilton on the weekend.
The alleged victim, a 27-year-old man, was asked to leave the premises just after 12am on Sunday morning, when it’s alleged the 40-year-old security guard assaulted him and broke his nose.
The man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment for facial injuries.
The 40-year-old man attended Newcastle Police Station later that day and was charged with four counts of common assault and occasioning bodily harm.
He will face Newcastle Local Court in January.
