While in Group 4’s major semi final, four tries in the opening 20 minutes saw Wests lead 22-nil at Scully Park.
From there though, the defending premiers launched a comeback, starting with Kieran Fisher’s four-pointer on half time.
The momentum swung, and Norths finished on top, 30-28.
The Lions will now host Gunnedah in next week’s preliminary final.
