PORT STEPHENS DRUG RAIDS

Police have seized a large quantity of the drug ice, other amphetamines and weapons in raids on homes at Port Stephens.

Operation Doboy was formed in March this year to investigate the supply of ‘ice’ in the Port Stephens area.

Three homes were raided at Tanilba Bay, along with others at Shoal Bay, Salt Ash.

Police say a large quantity of the drug ice was allegedly found, along with 6,000 tablets they believe are amphetamines, a shotgun and two pistols.

Two women aged 18 and 35 and a 36-year-old man were arrested in the raids at Tanilba Bay.

Two homes in the Sydney suburb of Newtown were also searched where police found a clandestine drug lab. There they found two litres of a liquid believed to be the drug GHB and methylamphetamine tablets. A 47-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested.
