Two men have been charged with numerous offences after allegedly trying to take a loaded firearm, drugs and cash into the Hunter’s Cessnock jail.
Just before 10:30 yesterday morning, police intercepted the Sydney men while they were driving into the jail’s carpark.
Officers allege a search of the vehicle located a loaded handgun, 1.89 grams of what’s believed to be cocaine, almost $5,000 in cash, and five mobile phones.
