REPLICA PISTOL PULLED IN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

Police have charged a man after a replica pistol was produced during a road rage incident at Lake Macquarie.

It’s alleged two drivers exchanged finger gestures while driving south along Lake Road at Wallsend on Tuesday.

Police say when the two vehicles came side-by-side, the driver of an Isuzu truck allegedly pointed a silver handgun at the other driver. Two people in the car pulled over and contacted police. The truck driver was later pulled over on Racecourse Road at Teralba. A silver plastic replica handgun was allegedly found in the cabin.

A 21-year-old was charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol and two counts of common assault. He’ll face court later this month.
