KOOTINGAL-MOONBI HOST ANOTHER RECORD BREAKING CARNIVAL
After setting new competitor records last year, the Kootingal-Moonbi Swimming Club has bettered the mark again.
There about 1300 entries this year, from more than 200 swimmers.
Coach Graham Johnson says the numbers are a reflection of the sport’s growth in the north west.
“All the other clubs too, like Narrabri, Tamworth City and all the clubs around…the junior growth is huge at the moment. So, it’s great for the sport.”
Today also marked one of the final opportunities for athletes from the region to qualify for the New South Wales Country Championships.
