A 13-year-old girl has sustained minor injuries, after being bitten by a shark on the Central Coast.
Police say the girl was surfing at Avoca Beach at around 6:30 this morning, when she was bitten on the left ankle.
She made her way to shore and was taken to Gosford Hospital by bystanders.
She remains in a stable condition.
Lifesavers are monitoring the beach and are advising people to avoid entering the water.
