FOUR KILLED IN HIGHWAY CRASH

Four young people have been killed in a car crash on the far north coast this morning.

It’s believed a Hyundai sedan was overtaking a truck along the Pacific Highway at Newrybar, north of Ballina at around 1:20am, when it left the road and hit a tree.

All four occupants in the vehicle died at the scene.

Police have identified the victims as a 22-year-old female from Ewingsdale who was driving, a 19-year-old man from West Ballina, a 20-year-old man from Ballina and a 17-year-old girl from Skennars Head.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

  1. Road rules exist to save and prevent unnecessary deaths, very sad that the spur moment bad decision of driver, fatally cost their and three other young lives.

  2. Id be seriously questioning the truckdriver!Everytime you try and overtake they speed up & wont let you in,was up there last week and it happened everytime I overtook.Hopefully this isn’t what happened but I bet it is.
