ICAC CLAIMS ANOTHER SCALP

The ICAC has claimed another Liberal scalp. This time it’s member for Swansea Garry Edwards.

In a three paragraph statement, Mr Edwards announced he was standing aside from the Liberal Party.

” I look forward to an early opportunity to clear my name.
In the meantime I have decided to stand aside from the Parliamentary Liberal Party.
I have informed the Premier of my decision and he has accepted it.”

Lord Mayor of Newcastle Jeff McCloy today told the ICAC today he gave Mr Edwards $1,500 towards his campaign.

“The guy from Swansea came to see me…he came to my home, I had $1500 in my wallet for raffle tickets or something…they all come to see me for money, I feel like a walking ATM.” said Mr McCloy.

Garry Edwards will sit on the cross bench.
