In the past 12 months, Dolly Parton and Keith Urban have visited the North West, but today Tamworth welcomed funny man Paul Hogan to town, as part of his month-long tour.
It’s the 74-year-old’s second visit to the country music capital, where locals have dubbed him ‘The Rainmaker.’
Hogan said he earned the nickname because the 2008 floods began when he got to town.
“What I remember most was I was on the second floor of the hotel alongside the river and woke up in the morning, looked out the window and I was on the ground floor. The water was raging past.”
He’ll perform at the Town Hall tomorrow night, before heading to Narrabri on Wednesday.
