Residents across the Tamworth region may be surprised when they open their rates notices this week.
New land valuations, which were carried out late last year by the valuer general will mean some residents will see an increase or a decrease on their bill.
Rates have been based on two components – including the rate pegging set by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal, which is 2.3 per cent and the new land valuations.
“If your property has gone up at a greater percentage in your category, then you may see a greater percentage increase than the 2.3 per cent.”
