Police are searching for two men after a failed carjacking in Jesmond late yesterday.
At about 5.10pm, a 26-year-old man was locking his car in a driveway on Blue Gum Road when two men approached him from behind with a firearm and demanded the keys.
One of the men got into the car with the keys and failed to start it properly, driving it a short distance before the vehicle stopped.
The man then fled the scene with the other offender.
