MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING FATAL SHOOTING IN GOSFORD

49 year old Colin Robert Debrincant has been charged with murder, following the fatal shooting on the Central Coast yesterday.

48 year old John Shields was shot in the head just outside a block of units in Gosford’s Gertrude street at around two o’clock.

Police negotiators then took more than two hours to arrest the accused after he barricaded himself inside one of the units.

This morning detectives were canvassing the area for more information, surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.

Debrincant was refused bail in Gosford Local Court today and will reappear next month.
