CALLS FOR COALITION TO FULFIL TWEED COMMITMENTS

Labor’s Justine Elliot may have retained her seat of Richmond, but with her party now out of Government she’s calling on the Coalition to come good on its election promises.

Unsuccessful Nationals Candidate for Richmond Matthew Fraser promised to fight for $3.3 million to resurface Kennedy Drive between the highway and Gray Street.

Ms Elliot is now calling on the Coalition to fulfil his promise, despite Mr Fraser not winning the seat.

Other money in doubt includes more than $1 million which was earmarked for the Bay and Wharf Street upgrades and Knox Park redevelopment under the former government’s Regional Development Australia Fund.

The Coalition has said the program will be replaced, however council is continuing with planning for the projects until it hears otherwise.
