A 42 year old man has suffered serious head and leg injuries after being assaulted in East Maitland last night.
Central Hunter Detectives have established the man is an ex-member of the Gladiators Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.
Just after 9.30pm last night he was driving a white Barina south on Chisholm Road when it was rammed from behind by a white Ford Falcon.
His car then spun around and came to a stop.
Two men were seen to get out of the Ford and assault the man, and it’s believed a number of other people travelling in a light coloured sedan, may have been involved in the assault.
The man was left lying on the road and was assisted by members of the public.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he is awaiting surgery.
