A woman died in a collision with a truck at Belmont North this morning.
Police say the 53-year-old woman’s car clipped the back of a courier truck and crashed into the front yard of a house on the Pacific Highway at around 9 o’clock.
“From initial inquiries it appears she has collided with the driver’s side corner of the truck which has speared her off into the front of the home.” said Senior Constable Neil Davis.
Fortunately no one was in the house at the time and police say they believe speed may have been a factor.
“There is an indication that …speed may have had something to do with the collision.”
The truck driver was uninjured and has undertaken a blood and urine test.
Northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway are closed as investigators continue to clear the scene.
