WEATHER UPDATE: 1500KM LONG LINE OF STORMS
A massive line of thunderstorms stretching from Sydney to Blackall north of Charleville in central QLD made its way across the region today.
The storms produced thousands of lightning strikes causing black outs at Tamworth and other areas.
The huge line of storms was caused by a pool of cold air caught in the low making its way across the SE corner of the country. The cold air collided with a lot of warm moist air that has been with us for a number of days. The moisture build up has been visible in the mornings with all the fog, followed my mild days thanks to the northerly airflow.
Once the system passes we are in for a mostly sunny, dry run but it is going to be cold especially at night. There may be a spray of showers which will affect areas from Gosford to Seal Rocks as the low pulls away from the coast on Saturday Another large swell is on the way set to cause more extensive coastal erosion.
