VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR STUDY INTO DEPRESSION AND EXERCISE

If you’re between 15 and 25 and have been diagnosed with depression, the University of Newcastle needs you.

Researchers are investigating whether exercise is an effective treatment option for young people.

“We want to compare a group of people who we give the exercise to immediately and a group of people who will wait 12 weeks before they get the exercise intervention,” said Professor Robin Callister.

The 50 participants will have free access to a gym, but can continue to take prescribed medication.
