WEATHER UPDATE: SIGNIFICANT RAIN EVENT DEVELOPING

It takes a large amount of energy to produce a significant inland rain event and this weeks developing system in the west has all the ingredients to deliver rain to the majority of the nation in the coming days.

Tropical moisture is streaming down from the NW as a deep low moves in from the south to join it.
Rain will begin to fall on Wednesday spreading across most of the broadcast region extending east to the coast on Thursday. The system may then form into an east coast low delivering strong winds, heavy rain and a large swell with the Hunter at risk of receiving the brunt of the wild weather.

Definitely a system to watch in the coming days.
We can expect another cold night followed by a fine Tuesday but high cloud will start moving in from the west ahead of the low.
