Im a bit concerned about this story. There is a part where it states that due to lack of funding they have to rely on family, friends and local businesses to fund this girls trip to represent Australia, It was my understanding that anyone who represents Australia is covered by their designated sporting body. My question would be what is happening to the funding and donations they are receiving if this is the case?
Yes you would be right Aust swimming does pay for the trip if they are representing austraila but there is more to just the trip to get there
& my understating would be the great people of the local area being family , friends & local business raising funds to help cover the cost for training & to travel to out of the area swimming meets like Sydney , Brisbane , Canberra & SA for trials to get on the team , being motels , , entry into the swimming events & transport to & from the pool to motels .
With out the help to cover the cost of these trips the kids would not be able to
