WEATHER UPDATE: STORMY

40,000 lightning strikes were recorded across NSW last night.
Today will be another day of big numbers with widespread storm development stretching from the Upper Hunter to the Gold Coast.
The storm activity will settle down tomorrow but we are expected smaller number of cells to develop over the northern ranges. A few coastal showers will be possible for the second half of the week.
On Friday southerly winds will gather speed as another east coast low forms in the Tasman generating a burst of coastal showers and large swell affecting the Hunter and Mid North Coasts. This system isn’t expected to affect the Northern Rivers or Gold Coast at this point. I’ll check the development of this system through the week.
