WEATHER UPDATE: EXTREME HEAT
A massive pool of extremely hot air now sits over the interior of the country.
Tomorrow Tuesday the 8th of Jan some of that hot air will be funnelled down the Hunter Valley as NW winds increase ahead of a gusty southerly front sweeping across the SE.
The heat will spill north across the NW and over the mountains to the MNC. High 30s and low 40s are expected.
Combined with the increased winds fire dangers will be extreme to catastrophic.
The change will move through easing conditions on Wednesday triggering a few showers and storms moving north into Thursday.
By Friday the extreme heat is set to return with another blast of hot NW air from the interior.
Your bush fire emergency plan needs to be organised, especially if you live near bushland of any kind.
As of 1:30pm, the Temperature here at Karuah was 38.9 Degrees Celcius, and it is still climbing .
