There’s been a tragic end to an afternoon at the beach at Avoca on the Central Coast.
Two young women were sitting on rocks just off Avoca Beach when they were apparently washed into the sea by a wave.
A board paddler was first to assist the girls, and he was joined by surf club members using a jet ski.
Emergency services, including an ambulance helicopter, rushed to the beach.
One of the patients was revived, a second died after CPR attempts.
