Lismore’s Mayor Jenny Dowell has just been elected President of the Northern Rivers Regional Organisation of Councils.
Better known as NOROC, the committee combines the seven local councils within the Northern Rivers to work together on projects that “cross boundaries”.
“Plus being the voice for the region in Sydney and Mcquarie Street in Canberra, so we are a voice for the Northern Rivers because we share a community of interest”.
Tweed Mayor Barry Longlard has been named Deputy President.
