WIND SHIFT HELPS LAKE FIREFIGHTERS

A southerly wind shift has just hit a bush fire in the Teralba Edgeworth area.
The fire which has been burning since Thursday morning has burnt through approximately 200 hectares. Fire crews are monitoring the situation on the western side of Edgeworth but no property is under direct threat. They’ve taken up defensive positions near a retirement home at Edgeworth but there’s no order for the facility to be evacuated.

The cooler southerly is assisting firefighters.
As temperatures reached the mid 30s earlier today, the fire was fanned by a stiff north westerly, that dropped off later in the day.
