The government has announced it will cut $1.8-billion from the education budget over the next four years.
Australia can only suffer from these cuts by the O’Farrell coalition government. We have a fantastic education institution in TAFE and we must protect an institution that serves many who cannot afford university education or are not inclined to attend one.
Apart from the moral duty we have to educate all Australians, Australia cannot afford not to spend on education. If one person is kept out of jail because of a teacher then we are thousands of dollars ahead.
The rich will not suffer from this, only the 97%.
I agree. We need to think about what our priorities are as a country. Are we for cutbacks and profit at all cost or for giving every citizen the best shot at getting the best out of their lives?
