MOTHER AND BABY WHALE SONGS

Passengers on board a Port Stephens whale watching boat have been treated to the unforgettable sounds of a whale song.
The catamaran, Imagine, was just off the heads of Port Stephens when a mother humpback and her calf passed directly underneath.
An underwater microphone recorded the sounds.
It’s estimated 1500 pairs of mothers and calves are heading down the coast to colder southern waters.
