WEATHER UPDATE: SOME WELCOME INLAND RAIN

Cloud has been increasing across much of the NBN broadcast region during today, Monday the 29th of Oct.

Some rain is on the way but totals will be generally quite low.

On the bright side the rain will be widespread across the North West, better falls should be recorded across the western slopes and tablelands. Patchy falls are expected along the coast with only light scattered falls for the Upper Hunter.

The small rain event will clear by Wednesday as warmer, drier air returns from the North West. Late Thursday a system will move in from the South West delivering rain to the southern regions including the Hunter, parts of the North West and Mid North Coast.

  1. My comment relates to the Norther Rivers weather man Gavin Morris. I am sick of hearing about another ‘beautiful fine day’ when we desperately need rain. Even his choice of words as ‘risk of showers” could easily be rephrased as “possible showers”. He may enjoy “beautiful fine days” while he surfs, but most (if not all) of the regional viewers have, at a minimum, a garden right through the spectrum to farmland. This beautiful region is only lush and green because of rain – we need it and we want it.

I grew up in western NSW where rain was a blessing, I moved to the coast because of the wonderful rain and lush country. It seems quite ignorant of our weatherman to ignore the benefit of rain to this region and the obvious financial hardship that our farmers face if it doesn’t rain soon.

It is not my intention to “kill the messenger” but I would ask for a more objective narration of the weather forecast.
