A barking dog roused a couple from their sleep who then discovered their house on fire this morning at Jerrys Plains.
The couple awoke around 3am to find their single story Pagan Street home well alight.
Fire fighters put out the fire but the home was badly damaged. A 30-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
Police say the fire is suspicious and the home is being examined by specialist forensic officers.
