MISSING BOY WITH DOWN SYNDROME FOUND SAFE

A NSW mother has had an emotional reunion with her missing four-year-old boy who has down syndrome.

Riley Martin disappeared yesterday at midday from his home on Short Street in Nambucca Heads with the family’s three dogs, two fox terriers and a kelpie.

The boy was found lying under a tree with one of the dogs at Shelly Headland and was returned home just before 7:30am this morning.

He was cold and covered in scratches

The couple who discovered the boy drove to the region from Kempsey to help with the search after seeing the appeal for help on the Police Facebook page.

Nine News crews caught the reunion on film this morning, showing Riley Martin’s mum Bianca Graham falling to the ground to hug her son crying “oh my baby, my baby, where have you been?.”

Ms Graham said words can’t describe the joy of having her boy back and said she thinks the dogs helped keep Riley safe.

“I tell you those dogs kept him alive, they looked after him, those dogs,” she said.

The boy was checked by paramedics and taken to Macksville Hospital as a precaution.
