After years of watching the Bathurst 1000 from the hill Gold Coast teen Jesse Dixon will now be in the driver’s seat.
The 19 year old won his spot on the starting grid after taking out the Shannon Supercar Showdown yesterday.
The competition saw 11 motorsport rookies from across Australia compete over 11 weeks for the opportunity.
Dixon’s final challenge – ‘a fastest time wins’ race with a V8 around the Winton race-track.
“To now be a V8 supercar driver racing at Bathurst, It’s something I’ve always thought about and always wanted to do.”
Dixon will now co-drive the Shannons Supercar on Mount Panorama with series one winner Cameron Waters.
