Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal smash just north of Lennox Head late this afternoon.
While investigations are continuing it’s believed the female driver of a red Mazda
convertible lost control on a bend heading south on the coast road, slamming into
the path of an oncoming Toyota.
Witnesses tried to perform CPR on the driver of the convertible but the woman,
believed to be in her seventies, died at the scene.
The female occupant of the other car has been taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries.
