COALITION REJECTS PLEA TO ABANDON TELE MEDICINE SYSTEM

 A plea from the Greens calling on the State Government to abandon plans for a Telehealth system at Mullumbimby hospital has been rejected.

Greens MP John Kaye moved the motion in the upper house yesterday, but it was knocked back.

 The motion also asked the coalition to provide funds to attract on-call doctors to the night shift.

 The Telehealth system will see patient’s after hours medical inquiries dealt with via a video conferencing system linked to Tweed Hospital.
