Ballina’s lighthouse beach is barely recognisable, with construction starting on the new Ballina Lighthouse and Lismore Surf lifesaving club.
Today the first sod of the $5.8-million dollar project, will enhance lifesaving operations at the beach.
“what we’ll be having is a patrol rooms on south east corner, so we’ll have full surveillance of the beach, training rooms, first aid rooms”
The building will also have a cafe and function room.
It’s expected to be completed by the end of May.
