1. What led you to run for Mayor?
I don’t believe that the current Mayor is active in the community.
2. How would you change what has been a dysfunctional council?
The Council is not dysfunctional, but is an organisation without a plan. I would institute a comprehensive management plan for all Council activities.
3. Given the turmoil that has surrounded council, why are you the best person to lead Cessnock?
I am an active participant in the community and understand its needs and wishes. I am also a business person who knows how to run an organisation.
4. There are 10 Mayor candidates, is this the worst outcome given that the election is now likely to be decided on preferences?
The outcome may be decided by preferences, but not necessarily.
5. Who are you preferencing?
Neil Gorman, Cordelia Burcham and Toby Thomas.
6. What would be your main priority if elected?
Efficient and accountable management, roads, footpaths/cycleways and drainage/flood mitigation.
7. What is your biggest challenge in winning this election?
Being able to convince the voters that I have a well-developed plan for leading Council and that a vote for me is in their best interests.
8. Why should rate payers have faith in you?
I have been a Councillor for four years and have worked hard and effectively during that period. My efforts have achieved a great deal.
9. How would you rate the performance of the current council and what would you change?
I feel that my performance, on Council, would rate 8/10. We must remove petty politics from Council.

50/50
So you just want to be Mayor because you think Mayor Davies isnt good enough? Id like a bit more reasoning than just that.
Stolen cars and insurance jobs in Greta Main….drugs in Paxton…yep, you know about it and do nothing about it. Tidy Towns???? Whatever… start with simply tidying your own backyard and sorting out your family. The results have proven your popularity. Stick to eating, you do that well. Perhaps you could become Mayor McFeast….just a thought!
What council with a sound mind would block such a major project like Huntlee New Town, which would create thousands of jobs for the greater Newcatle comunity?
