A woman has died in a multi vehicle pile-up on the John Renshaw Drive near Newcastle. Two four wheel drives and a small sedan were involved in the crash near the Buchanan Road intersection. Emergency services are on the scene.
One man has been flown to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a critical condition.

My dad knew the fella that was taken to hospital, he died. His nickname was scrappy. 🙁

The woman killed was by wife’s maid of honour in November. She was a very, very close family friend, more like a sister to my wife. Such a gentle soul, she is very sadly missed by us all.
