WOMAN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED AT RUTHERFORD

A woman has been sexually assaulted after stopping to help a man on the side of the road in Rutherford yesterday afternoon.

The 34-year-old woman was driving along Kyle Street, Rutherford at around 5 o’clock when she spotted a car with its bonnet raised on the side of the road.

She told police she stopped to help the man, who then punched her, knocking her unconscious.

She said when she regained consciousness she realised she had been sexually assaulted and moved, along with her car, to a sales yard on Kyle Street.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 30s to early 40s with short light brown hair and was wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt, blue shoes with yellow laces and dark square sunglasses.

He was holding a white blanket and was with a red Holden Commodore Sedan.
