UPGRADES NEAR FOR WINE ROADS

A long-running fight to fix pothole plagued roads around the Hunter Valley’s peak tourist destination, should be resolved by the end of the year.

Cessnock Council has started advertising for companies interested in working on stage one of the project, the eastern section of Broke Road at Pokolbin, which will get underway in May.

$20-million will be spent in three stages, with the second, a complete reconstruction of the western end of Broke Road.
