Police have been kept busy with a fresh spate of holdups across the Hunter
In the latest attack two men, one armed with a knife, another with an iron bar, robbed the Clarencetown post office,
narrowly escaping a police net.
Earlier in the day, a masked gunman bailed up staff at the Hotel Jesmond and only hours later a woman with a knife attempted to rob the same pub’s bottle shop.
