Motorists travelling on the Coast Road between Ballina and Lennox Head will soon have to start putting the breaks on.
The Roads and Maritime Services will be slashing the speed limit from 100 to 80 kilometres an hour, in response to several complaints from residents.
The stretch was one of 100 in New South Wales included in a state audit on speed zones.
The changes will come into effect this Tuesday.
