Festival crowds were treated to a masterclass in emergency service response on Sunday night, when a fire broke out above a shop on Peel Street.
About 8:30, smoke was seen billowing through the window of an upstairs apartment.
With a crowd watching on, emergency services quickly entered the building and contained the blaze.
“Crews were on scene within 5 minutes, and what we found was a smoke-filled room on the second storey, we found it hard to locate the fire.”
Investigations are still underway, but it’s thought an electrical fault may have started the fire in the ceiling.
No one was injured.
