Strong winds caused their fair share of havoc across Newcastle this afternoon.
A norfolk pine crashed to the ground at Hamilton around 3:15.
Fortunately it fell onto the median strip, and not across busy Tudor Street.
It did however damage a second pine, which will now have to be felled.
And the wind served up a headache for a fast food outlet at Kotara.
A KFC sign was blown to bits, so firemen were hoisted up to secure the sign.
The mission caused traffic to bank up on both Northcott Drive and Park Avenue.
